TRACK AND FIELD'S KRAUSE SETS PERSONAL RECORD AT CLEMSON GAMES

CLEMSON, S.C. – University of South Alabama track and field freshman Ashton Krause set a personal record in the 60-meter hurdles of the heptathlon Saturday afternoon at the Clemson Games.

Krause finished second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.52 seconds, bettering his 8.70-second finish last weekend at the ETSU Niswonger Invitational.

“One of our goals with this meet was to get them some experience in a combined events competition to prepare for the conference championships,” USA head coach Paul Brueske said. “There was some good competition at this meet, and it should help us moving forward.”

Krause finished eighth overall in the heptathlon with 3,854 points. The Mobile, Ala. native also competed in the 60m dash, long jump, shot put and 1,000m over the weekend.

USA senior Ebonee Moody competed in the pentathlon where she competed in the 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800m. Moody, a native of Beaumont, Miss., finished with a mark of 9.57m in the shot put, which improved on her best shot from last season, 8.91m, that she finished with at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships.

USA returns to action next weekend at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
