EUGENE, Ore. ? University of South Alabama men’s track and field javelin thrower Glen Odom finished 16th in the junior men’s javelin Sunday at the 2009 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Odom threw 55.02m/180-06.00 on his first throw of the meet, to earn a 16th-place finish. The freshman from Foley, Ala., ended the outdoor season ranked fourth in the Sun Belt Conference.
“It was a good experience for Glen to compete against that level of competition,” USA head coach Paul Brueske said. “I think this experience is going to help him later down the road. I believe we are going to see big things from him for the next three years here at South Alabama.”
