MOBILE, Ala. --- The University of South Alabama men’s basketball team is listed in CollegeInsider.com’s preseason top-25 poll released Monday.

Butler is the No. 1 team after receiving 28 of the 31 first-place votes. Gonzaga (two first-place votes) is No. 2, Siena (1) is No. 3 and Northern Iowa is No. 4.

USA is one of two Sun Belt Conference schools in the rankings. Western Kentucky is No. 5.

The Mid-Major Poll, now in its 11th season, is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit League, Sun Belt, West Coast.
