LADY JAGUARS TO COMPETE AT JOHN KIRK/PANTHER INTERCOLLEGIATE

MOBILE, Ala. - Coming off of its best finish of the spring, University of South Alabama women's golf will return to action Mon., March 22 - Tue., March 23, at the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate, hosted by Georgia State, at Eagle's Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Ga.

The two-day tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Monday with 36 holes on the par-72, 6,047-yard course, and conclude Tuesday morning with the 18-hole final round.

The 13-team field features two schools, Georgia State and Chattanooga, ranked in the top 50. UALR, Arkansas State, Florida International and Troy, along with USA, will represent the Sun Belt Conference in tournament. Augusta State, Ball State, Daytona State, Murray State, Texas State and Xavier round out the tournament participants.

"There is a very good field in this tournament," USA head coach T.J. Jackson said.  "We're going to have to play well to compete with that field. Eagle's Landing is a lot like Limestone Springs. It has the same type greens and terrain, and has a lot of elevation changes. It will be wet like Limestone Springs was, so I anticipate a lot of the same conditions that we just played. Hopefully, that will work to our favor."

The Lady Jaguars tied for second place last week at the Samford Invitational at Limestone Springs Golf Club in Oneonta, Ala. USA finished with a team score of 910, while freshman Fanny Eineren won the individual championship with a three-round total of 213.

"We had a really good showing last week, especially the first two rounds," Jackson said. "Fanny [Eineren] played exceptionally well to lead the way with an individual title. Everyone has contributed at some point  in the season, and we just need to continue the trend that we started last week in the first two rounds. If we can get everybody to go low at the same time, then that's what we're after."

Eineren shot 3-under-par last week to capture the individual title at Limestone Springs, including a combined 5-under-par in the first two rounds. Sarah-Louise Winter finished tied for 10th with a three-round total of 227, including a first-round score of even par. USA senior Claudia Wolf finished tied for 13th with a three-round total of 231, and Nina Offenberg and Ana Garcia finished tied for 18th place with three-round totals of 233 each.

Georgia State won last year's tournament with a 22-over par team score of 886. GSU's Sandra Maier won the individual title last year with a three-round, even-par total of 216.
