STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. - University of South Alabama senior women's golfer Claudia Wolf shot a team-best 9-over par through the first two rounds of the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate at Eagle's Landing Country Club, and sits in a three-way tie for 10th place heading into Tuesday's final round.
"The golf course is very demanding," USA head coach T.J. Jackson said. "It makes you hit golf shots. We executed well on some holes and we didn't on others, and it cost us. There were some good teams that shot high scores as well. Hopefully, we'll rebound tomorrow with a better score. We need to be able to hit the fairways and greens on the holes we have had trouble on, but we just have to go out and execute. We can do that, we just didn't do it as well today."
Wolf (78-75) finished the first and second round with a total score of 153 to lead the Lady Jaguars. USA enters Tuesday's final round in seventh place after posting a two-round total of 635. The Lady Jags shot a 319 in round one, and carded a second round 316.
Fanny Eineren (82-80) and Nina Offenberg (82-80) shot 16-over par in the first two rounds, and Ana Garcia fired a first-round 5-over par 77.
The Lady Jaguars finished the second round ahead of Troy, Florida International, Texas State, Xavier, Murray State and Arkansas State.
Georgia State leads the team standings by eight strokes over Daytona State after the first two rounds, posting a first-round team score of 301 and second-round 300.
GSU's Cathrine Madsen and Daytona State's Jennifer Gartin share the individual lead at 2-over par after two rounds.
Tuesday's 18-hole final round will begin at 9 a.m.
