MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama Director of Athletics Dr. Joel Erdmann announced Wednesday that the Jaguar football program will open the season a couple of days earlier than first scheduled.

The Jags will now meet Texas-San Antonio on Thursday, Aug. 30, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.  Kickoff time for the contest is still to be announced.

It’s the second straight season that USA will open on Thursday night after defeating West Alabama, 20-10, to begin the 2011 campaign.  The Jaguars have an all-time mark of 4-0 in Thursday games in the program’s first three years.
