Roy Patton is selected the Sun Belt Conference men’s soccer Coach of the Year for the fourth straight season — and sixth occasion in his career — after guiding the Jaguars to an 18-2-2 finish and the championship of the league tournament. In 16 years in charge of the program, Patton posted an overall record of 202-81-20 (70%) including leading USA to a double-digit win total in each of his last 11 years. Hired on Sept. 1, 1980, Patton — who also guided the women’s program its first two seasons of existence to a 21-13-2 mark — was inducted into the USA Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997.
