MOBILE, Ala. – May 3, 2013, will mark the 50th Anniversary of the University of South Alabama.  Throughout the academic year, the USA Department of Athletics will recognize “50 Great Moments In Jaguar Athletics” to honor past teams, coaches and student-athletes for their accomplishments.

June, 1985
Following a career in which he earned All-America honors from four different organizations, Terry Catledge is the Jaguars’ first-ever player to be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft after he’s chosen by the Philadelphia 76ers.  The native of Houston, Miss., was voted Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year each of his final two seasons and was a three-time first-team all-league selection.  Catledge departed as the program’s all-time leader with 1,866 points — he still stands second on the list today — and 932 rebounds, while his 21.7 points-per-game scoring average is the best ever by a Jag.
