JAGUAR WOMEN ADD D’ANDRA PRINGLE TO SIGNEE CLASS

MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama women's basketball head coach Terry Fowler announced Friday that D'Andra Pringle (Lawrenceville, Ga.) has signed a National-Letter-of-Intent to play for the Jaguar women during the 2015-16 season.

"D'Andra [Pringle] has great size at 5-9," Fowler said of the newest signee.  "She can take you off the dribble and create her own shot.  She is going to be really good in our ball-screen offense.  She also has the ability to score in traffic and just make others (around her) better.  We are really excited to have her join our program."

Pringle – who committed to the Jaguars back in February – joins Christen Carter (Jacksonville, Fla. – The Bolles School) and India Hall (Antioch, Tenn. – Brentwood Academy) in this year's recruiting class.  Both Carter and Hall signed with the program during the fall.

In addition to Pringle, South Alabama looks to sign three to four more to the class this spring.

Pringle signs with the Jags after lettering the past four seasons at Mountain View High Schooi in Lawrenceville, Ga., for head coach Jackie Linquist.  Pringle was a starter each year with the Lady Bears and moved into that role full time during her sophomore season.

The 5-9 guard ended her prep career at Lawrenceville after helping set a strong foundation for the young program – just in its sixth year of existence.  In each of the last two seasons, Pringle and her Lady Bear teammates have set new single-season win tallies for the program.

As a senior, Pringle helped Mountain View (25-5) reach the quarterfinal round of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) state playoffs where the Lady Bears lost to eventual state champion McEachern.  She also led MVHS to a 7-AAAAAA Region regular-season championship as her club defeated its opponents by an average of 19 ppg.

She was named second-team all-region for her play during the season after averaging 10.0 points per game to go along with 3.8 rpg.  Pringle also chipped in with 1.7 assists and 1.9 steals per outing during the 2014-15 campaign.

During her final prep season, Pringle was also selected to the West Forsyth Wolverine Classic all-tournament team and named as one of the Gwinnet County Tip-off Club Players of the Month for December.

As a junior, Pringle averaged 12.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 2.1 spg, while guiding Mountain View to the program's second state tournament appearance.  The Lady Bears won a then program-record 21 games and advanced to the second round of the state tourney.

During the 2012-13 season, Pringle and Mountain View earned the school's first play-off appearance and won 19 games.
