AT SHELTON STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Lettered two seasons at Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa, Ala., for head coach Madonna Thompson…Chose the Lady Jags after being recruited by Georgia State, Akron and Jacksonville…In her two seasons at Shelton State, nearly eclipsed the 1,000-point mark, finishing her JUCO career with 938 points (14.0 ppg)…Over the course of her junior college career, connected on 43.3 percent of (317-of-732) her attempts from the field, while also showing that she was a solid threat from the outside, knocking down 36.9 percent (135-of-367) of her attempts from the arc…Pulled down 222 rebounds, dished out 180 assists and registered 134 steals in two seasons…In her two years with the program, led SSCC to a 57-11 record...Chosen by the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame committee to have her jersey on display in the Hall’s “Ring of Honor” in Knoxville, Tenn., in recognition of her outstanding play for the 2011-12 season…Averaged 14.2 points and 2.1 steals per game, while pulling down 3.7 rebounds per contest en route to picking up first-team NJCAA All-American honors during her final season at Shelton State…Recorded double-digits in 30 of her 37 games, including seven 20-point efforts…Shot 44.8 percent from the floor and 39.2 percent from the three-point line – which ranked 22nd in the NJCAA and led the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) – and connected on 87 treys as a sophomore…Earned all-ACCC Northern Division first-team honors, as well as a selection as the division’s player of the year…Named the MVP of the league’s tournament after helping the Lady Bucs capture the title with an 85-60 victory over Wallace St.-Hanceville…Finished with 27 points and six rebounds on 11-of-18 shooting, including five three-pointers in the regional championship game…Guided SSCC to a 33-4 overall record and a sixth-place finish at the national tournament where she was named to the national all-tournament squad…Averaged 13.8 points an outing, while shooting 41.3 percent from the field and 33.1 percent from long range as a freshman…Was solid defensively, averaging 1.9 steals a game and earning ACCC first-team all-region honors…Selected to the league’s all-tournament squad and Northern Division first-team all-conference.
AT HOOVER HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered four seasons for head coach Donnie Quinn at Hoover High School in Hoover, Ala…As a senior, helped guide the Lady Bucs to a 33-1 record and the 2010 6A Alabama High School Athletic Association state championship with a 39-19 victory over Bob Jones in the title game…Went 14-of-14 at the free throw line in that game en route to earning most valuable player honors…Hoover’s only loss that season was a six-point defeat to St. Mary’s out of Stockton, Calif. – then ranked No. 1 in the nation in the Xcellent 25 Girl’s Rankings by Maxpreps.com – in the championship game of the T-Mobile Invitational on Dec. 30, 2009…Hoover finished ranked 36th in the nation that season…Was named the 6A tournament’s most valuable player and selected to compete in the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game after also earning second-team all-state accolades as a senior…As a junior, helped guide the Lady Bucs to a 29-6 record and an appearance in the finals of the 6A state tournament.
