In the spring of 2007, the inaugural University of South Alabama softball team opened the gates to its new facility, Jaguar Field. The Jags played their first home game in the stadium on February 24, 2007, defeating Grambling State 13-1 in five innings.
Softball Complex The University of South Alabama softball fieldhouse is a $1.2 million facility which was completed in February 2009. The 8,800 square-foot building houses locker rooms for players and coaches, and features a player lounge, showers, conference room, three coaches offices, training room, and equipment and laundry room. A state-of-the-art hitting facility was completed prior to the 2014 season, and a new press box and concession stand was completed near the end of the season.
